COVID-19 emergency relief funding
Student eligibility for Federal Emergency Relief Grants
The Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act has made funding available to colleges and universities to assist eligible students who have been impacted by an on-campus COVID-19 financial disruption. AVI Career Training received CARES Act funds in the amount of $26,599. We are currently working on allotting funds for emergency financial aid grants to students. The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and therefore eligible to receive an emergency financial aid grant is unknown as we will be disbursing to all students enrolling.
Students who received a Federal Pell grant at AVI Career Training during the 2020/2021 FAFSA will automatically be considered for funding with these additional conditions (no application is required):
Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
Must be registered with Selective Service, if required.
Must not be in default, owe a refund or repayment to a federal financial aid program.
Must be meeting AVI Career Training’s Financial Aid’s satisfactory academic progress (SAP) policy.
Have not been convicted for the sale of or possession of an illegal drug offence that occurred while you were receiving federal student aid.
Must be enrolled in classes between starting July 6, 2020 until July 5, 2021
Funding from the CARES Act is limited.
Students who are not Federal Pell grant eligible can be considered for funding if they meet the following criteria:
Must have a valid 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file by December 31, 2020.
Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
