To be eligible for federal financial aid for the 2024-2025 award year, students must meet the following criteria:
You must provide consent for your federal tax information to be directly transferred into your 2024–2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).
You agree to use federal student aid solely for educational purposes.
You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), which includes both qualitative (maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0) and quantitative standards (completing your program within 150% of the published length).
You must be enrolled as a regular student, meaning you’re actively pursuing a certificate or diploma offered by AVI Career Training.
Note: Certain non-U.S. citizens, including those holding Temporary Protected Status (TPS), visitor visas (B1/B2), and those with only Notices of Approval to Apply for Permanent Residence (I-171 or I-464), are not eligible for federal student aid.
To maintain federal financial aid eligibility, students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), which includes:
Maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
Successfully completing your program within 150% of the published duration (e.g., if a program requires 600 hours, you must complete within 900 hours attempted).
AVI Career Training evaluates student progress at the end of each grading period. Students who fail to meet these standards will receive a warning, may be placed on probation, or face suspension of financial aid eligibility. Students are notified by the Academic and Financial Aid Offices and provided guidance on next steps.
Students needing to miss class for medical reasons must submit a doctor’s note describing their medical condition. If a student misses a final test, they may not advance without special approval from the academic office.
