Guide to Applying for Financial Aid at AVI Career Training

Creating Your StudentAid.gov Account (FSA ID)

Follow these instructions to set up your StudentAid.gov account (FSA ID):

1. Visit the official StudentAid.gov Account Creation.
2. Enter your personal information, including your full name, date of birth, and Social Security Number (if applicable).
3. Set up a unique username and secure password.
4. Provide either your mobile number or email address and consent to receiving verification messages.
5. Select your preferred communication settings.
6. Answer security questions to ensure your account remains protected.
7. Verify the accuracy of the provided details.
8. Accept the terms and conditions.
9. Complete the registration by confirming your email or phone verification.

Submitting Your FAFSA Application

1. Go to www.fafsa.gov.
2. Select “Start a New FAFSA” to initiate your Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
3. Fill out all required information and submit the FAFSA form electronically.
4. When prompted, enter AVI Career Training’s Federal School Code: [Insert AVI Career Training’s Federal School Code].

Required Documents for FAFSA Submission:

• Your Social Security Number (SSN), if applicable.
• Alien Registration Number (A-Number), if you’re an eligible noncitizen.
• Federal income tax returns and related documents such as child support received, current account balances (checking, savings, cash), and investment information. You must consent to allow FAFSA to access your federal tax records to qualify for federal aid.
• Bank account statements and investment details, if applicable.
• Records of any untaxed income received.
• Personal FSA ID (username and password).

Renewal of FAFSA

You must renew your FAFSA each academic year, especially if your financial situation has changed, as this may alter your eligibility for financial assistance. The FAFSA renewal process is simpler and quicker than the initial application. If you included your email during the original submission, you’ll receive email reminders regarding your FAFSA renewal.
